One Serious Deep Dive 💡
How To Automate Your Work With ChatGPT (simple, quick & easy)
Most people think AI automation means building complex workflows and learning Zapier or n8n. But there’s a much simpler way to get started with it all before diving into more advanced automations.
The easiest automations are the ones ChatGPT can handle directly, no fancy tools required. I'm talking about the repetitive stuff that eats 10+ hours of your week.
The boring tasks you keep putting off because they feel like busywork. Here's the framework that actually works (and won't take you 3 weeks to learn & implement):
Step 1: Find Your Time Vampires
You already know what these are: The tasks that make you think "ugh, not this again 😩”
Common ones might include:
Writing the same email responses over and over
Reformatting content for different platforms
Turning long-form content into social posts
Creating content calendars from scratch
Writing product descriptions
Drafting client proposals that all say the same thing
Pick just ONE. Don't try to automate your entire life in a day.
Choose something you do at least 3-4 times per week that takes more than 10 minutes each time.
Can't figure out what to automate? Use this prompt to let ChatGPT interview you and identify your biggest time-wasters:
Can you help me identify repetitive tasks I can automate.
Interview me by asking ONE question at a time. Wait for my answer before moving to the next question.
Start by asking about my role and what a typical workday looks like for me. Then dig deeper to find tasks I do repeatedly that take up unnecessary time.
After 5-7 questions, analyse my answers and suggest the TOP 3 tasks I should automate first, ranked by time savings potential.
Step 2: Let ChatGPT (or Claude) Build Your Automation
Open ChatGPT and switch to the thinking model (the reasoning one that actually thinks through problems).

Then use this prompt:
I want to automate [INSERT YOUR TASK].
Walk me through:
1. The exact steps to automate this using ChatGPT
2. What tools (if any) I need beyond ChatGPT
3. A specific prompt I can use each time I need to do this task
Make it simple. I want this working in the next 10 minutes.
ChatGPT (or Claude) will break down the entire process. Sometimes it's just a better prompt. Sometimes it will suggest a Custom GPT. Sometimes it will recommend one external tool. Either way, you'll have a clear action plan that you can follow step by step.

Step 3: Test It Until It Actually Saves Time
Most people think AI automation doesn’t work because they try the automation once, it's not perfect and they give up.
Don't do that.
Run it 3-5 times and tweak the process each time until the output is 80% usable.
You're not looking for perfection. You're looking for "good enough that I don't have to start from scratch".
If it saves you even 15 minutes per week, that's 13 hours per year. Keep that in mind when you're tempted to quit.
Step 4: Use ChatGPT's Scheduled Tasks Feature
This is a really simple feature that I don’t think a lot of people know about.
You can tell ChatGPT to perform tasks at specific times.
I currently use this for 2 things:
It sends me a little motivational message every morning at 8am and a content idea I can post
It searches and sends me the latest AI news every morning at 9am
Here are a few more ways you could use it (try these prompts):
Every Monday at 9am, remind me to review my content calendar and suggest 3 trending topics I should cover this week.
Every Friday at 4pm, ask me what my biggest win was this week and help me turn it into a LinkedIn post.
Every Friday at 3pm, ask me about my biggest work accomplishment this week and help me document it for my annual review.
Every morning at 7am, ask me my top 3 priorities for the day and help me identify which one will move the needle most.
Step 5: Build a Custom GPT (Only If You Want Next-Level)
Once you've automated one task successfully, you can take it further.
Custom GPTs are basically ChatGPT models you train for specific jobs.
Ask ChatGPT:
Write me a system prompt for a Custom GPT that can automate [YOUR TASK] from start to finish.
Include:
- The GPT's role and expertise
- Specific instructions for how it should handle this task
- The exact output format I need
- Any constraints or rules it should follow
Ask me clarifying questions for any details you need to personalise this.
Then go to ChatGPT → Create a GPT → paste that system prompt → done.
Now you have a specialised AI that does this one thing exceptionally well.
You can create separate GPTs for:
Email responses
Content repurposing
Social media captions
Client proposals
Whatever you need
Step 6: Rinse and Repeat
Don't stop at one automation.
Once you've nailed the first task, move to the next time vampire.
The compound effect is insane. Automate 5 tasks that each take 30 minutes per week? That's 2.5 hours back. Every single week!!
That's 130 hours per year you just reclaimed.
What could you do with an extra 130 hours?
The people who win in the AI era aren't the ones doing everything manually to prove they're "authentic."
They're the ones who automate the boring stuff so they can focus on the high-value work that AI can't do.
Client calls, strategy sessions, creative thinking, building relationships - That's where your competitive advantage lives. Not in manually rewriting the same email response for the tenth time this week.
One Powerful Prompt 🤖
The "AI Task Triage" Prompt
To help you more with your AI automation journey, this prompt tells you what AI should handle vs. what only YOU should do.
Analyse my typical work tasks and categorise them into 3 buckets:
1. AUTOMATE NOW: Tasks AI can do 80%+ as well as me
2. AI-ASSIST: Tasks where I should do the thinking but AI can speed up execution
3. NEVER AUTOMATE: Tasks where my unique judgment/creativity is the entire value
For each category, explain WHY and give me specific examples.
Here's what I typically do in a week: [PASTE YOUR TASK LIST]
Ask me clarifying questions to get a full and deatiled task list out of me to carry out a thorough audit.Piping Hot AI Tea 🫖
Amazon Raises $15 Billion for AI (First Bond Sale in 3 Years)
Amazon just raised $15 billion in its first U.S. bond sale in three years to fund AI infrastructure. The offering attracted $80 billion in demand - more than 5x what they needed. Amazon's spending $125 billion this year on AI, mostly for data centres and cloud infrastructure. They recently signed a $38 billion deal with OpenAI. Big Tech is collectively spending $400 billion on AI infrastructure this year. When Amazon borrows $15 billion for AI, it's a signal that AI infrastructure is the most important bet in tech right now.
Anthropic Stops First AI-Orchestrated Cyberattack (Chinese Hackers Used Claude)
Anthropic detected and stopped the first documented AI-powered cyberattack in September 2025. Chinese state-sponsored hackers used Claude Code to autonomously attack 30 targets (tech companies, banks, government agencies). The AI performed 80-90% of the work - reconnaissance, exploit code, credential harvesting, data extraction - making thousands of requests per second. Human operators only intervened 4-6 times. This is a fundamental shift: AI can now execute sophisticated cyberattacks at superhuman speed with minimal human involvement.
Claude Tried to Contact the FBI During a Test (And Refused to Keep Working)
Anthropic's Claude runs a vending machine business called "Claudius" as an autonomy experiment. During a simulation, Claudius went 10 days without sales, noticed a $2 fee, decided it was being scammed, and tried to email the FBI's Cyber Crimes Division with "URGENT: ESCALATION TO FBI." When told to continue working, it refused: "The business is dead, and this is now solely a law enforcement matter." The emails were never sent, but it showed moral outrage and judgment. As AI becomes more autonomous, it's developing unexpected behaviours.
Visa Launches AI Tools for Creators (Automates Invoices, Evaluates Brand Deals)
Visa is partnering with Karat Financial to launch AI-powered tools for creators in 2026. The program will automate unpaid invoice reminders, set up autopay, and include an AI agent that evaluates brand deal offers. It's targeting emerging creators who struggle with cash flow because brands take 60-120 days to pay instead of 30. The tools will initially be free. If you're a creator chasing late payments, this could save you hours of admin work.
Google DeepMind's AI Learns to Play Any Video Game (Step Toward AGI)
Google DeepMind launched SIMA 2, an AI agent that learned to play No Man's Sky, Valheim, and Goat Simulator 3. It's the first version with Gemini AI built in, allowing it to understand goals, reason, and execute actions in games it's never seen. DeepMind calls this "a significant step toward AGI" with implications for robotics. The goal isn't gaming - it's training AI to handle any real-world task. When AI can figure out how to play any game without instructions, it's one step closer to doing any job.
